Paz Roble, a kind, hard-working and honest woman from whom her husband, Fermín, takes her newborn daughter. On the other hand, Esteban Villa de Cortés loses his wife and becomes a widower with his three children. Elvira Moncada, Esteban's mother-in-law, holds him responsible for the death of her daughter. After a series of unexpected events, Esteban and Paz meet in the neighborhood where she lives with her family. Savón announces to Ginebra that he managed to bribe a couple of judges so that she could obtain her freedom, but first she must meet with her superior. Elvira complains to Ginebra for choosing the path of evil, she blames her for having abandoned her and asks them to say goodbye to her happiness since her worst nightmare has just begun.
